Snow lovers will choose the holiday region of Saalfelden Leogang as their ‘place-to-be’ in the winter and won’t want to leave. After all, this holiday region in Pinzgau combines what holiday-makers who have an affinity for snow are looking for - powder white slopes with fluffy white powder snow, icy peaks, little areas of unspoilt natural surroundings and deep blue skies. Just like a winter fairy-tale!
Robust outdoor lovers who are always on the look-out for action and exercise will be inspired by the 270 kilometres of pistes that Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn offers. At the same time, a very well-developed infrastructure featuring state-of-the-art cable car and lift facilities, dreamy pistes of all difficulty levels, Snowparks with challenging obstacles and Freeride Parks with spectacular pipes, make a variety-packed ski holiday in Leogang possible.
The 4-star Hotel Riederalm is a mere stone’s throw from the entrance to the Skicircus, directly at the piste and the valley station for the Asitz cable car (8-seater gondola).
Burning off energy is not just possible on the prepared pistes in Saalfelden Leogang, but out on the open terrain too. On ski tours you get to experience the real gem in the region – panoramic mountain views to Steinernes Meer, which you won’t forget in a hurry, challenging ascents and the feeling of being the first to leave your tracks in the seductively glistening slops. Trained tour guides show you some secret places too. And Manager Friedl Herbst, himself a keen tourer, is happy to provide information about ski tours in Leogang.
Prefer things to be more leisurely during your winter holiday and favour leisure activities away from the tended pistes? On a winter hike you get to tackle undiscovered paths, enjoy the views and choose a route according to activity level, to suit your physical condition and speed. Signposted winter hiking paths take you to the loveliest places in Salzburger Land, guided tours – on snowshoes too are offered several times a week.
Those who prefer a bit more speed, will find a tempting alternative offer on the prepared and in part floodlit toboggan runs. The ‘Leos Kufengaudi’ toboggan run proceeds for 4 kilometres from the intermediate station for the Asitzbahn down into the valley, every Tuesday and Friday between 6 and 10.30 p.m. – the route is exclusively used for night-time tobogganing. It is not just night-time sledding that is an experience, the night-time cable car journey will be an experience to remember too. Ahorse-drawn carriageride through the snow-covered winter landscape and cross-country skiingin the 110 kilometre route network complete the range of alternative winter activities available.
And should you not want to leave the hotel for once, we would be delighted to welcome you to our spacious wellness area in the Riederalm. Whether it is in the Mountain Spa with its new thermal pool, the ‘Pinzgauer Wasserfestspielen’ or our massage and sauna area – switching off here is easy!
