News from the Skicircus

From 07 December we start the winter season 2018/19, the first white flakes have already fallen - it's time to get the latest news from the Skicircus. New mountain lifts, cool events and even more comfort await you.

The old 6-seater chairlift from 2003 was replaced in summer 2018 by a top-modern 8-seater chairlift. With the powerful connection from the Asitzmulde up to the Kleiner Asitz to 1870 metres, the capacity was increased from 2400 to 3500 people per hour. Now there is a better connections to Leogang - waiting times are yesterday's snow. The new chairlift is a state-of-the-art D-Line model (first 8 seat D-line chairlift worldwide) from Doppelmayr with bubble, seat heating and automatic locking bar. Thanks to the automatic locking bars, families with children in particular can relax and enjoy a safe, comfortable mountain ride. In addition, the new valley station was relocated by about 55 metres and thus the approaches to the Asitzmulden 8-seater and the Asitzkogel 6-seater Sportbahn were made much more accessible, i.e. a safer crossing and descent on the piste to the valley stations is now guaranteed.

The new Kohlmaisbahn lift provides a fast trip to the Kohlmais. With a capacity of 3200 people per hour, the lift takes you directly from the centre to top of the local mountain of Saalbach without waiting times. With the new construction of the valley station, 100 underground parking spaces and own staff apartments were also built. Now guests get from the ski lift road directly into a hall and from there with lifts comfortably up to the cash desk area and the entrance. The new 10-seater cabin lift from Doppelmayr uses the latest cabin generation from CWA, the so-called 'Omega V', for the first time and exclusively worldwide... and it has a lot to offer: a balanced shape, an obstacle-free, easy access, ergonomic individual seats as well as a sophisticated ventilation concept.

Also in Fieberbrunn, 2018 was a year of innovations. The capacity of the reservoir Streuböden has increased from 17,000 m³ to 155,000 m³, which is almost tenfold ! The new reservoir supplies the entire area of Streuböden, Maiskopf and the Doischberg. In the course of the construction of the reservoir, Timok's adventure trail with the connected low water area was redesigned and opened in summer 2019 as a further attraction. The new reservoir as well as an investment in the expansion and rebuilding of the Streuböden snow line now make it possible to secure the ski operation for Christmas. 

The new Funslopes at the Zwölferkogel and the Unterschwarzachbahn mountain lift in Hinterglemm are a great adventure for all ages away from the normal downhill piste. If you are looking for an exciting alternative to the traditional carving fun, you will love the brand new routes 'Funslope U-Bahn' and 'Funslope Zwölfer'. With their snow waves, tunnels, giant snails, speedboosters, etc., they are a real thrill and put your skiing skills to the test in an entertaining way.

In the beginning the anticipation of skiing may be great, but on the endless way to the piste you might loose that desire. What can be done about it? Visit us in the Riederalm in Leogang! We are not only in the immediate vicinity of the mountain lift, but you can also ski from the piste directly to our ski cellar. The way back to the hotel is really easy for our guests!
