The Challenge - Ski your Limit

Admittedly, anyone who reads the description of 'The Challenge' should be aware that this is for very ambitious and enduring skiers! The mastering of a total of 12,400 altitude metres, 32 mountain lifts and 65 kilometres of pistes is possible within about 7 hours. Assuming that you postpone dreamy 'looking into the distance' or extended hut visits until the next day of skiing. This circuit of the Skicircus is the longest of its kind in the Alpine region - unforgettable impressions of one of the largest ski resorts in Austria are guaranteed here! So who is going to take up the challenge?

You can start at any mountain lift, what counts at the end of the day is that you passed all 32 mountain lifts. We recommend to start with the Asitzbahn mountain lift right at 8 am - for 'warming up' go down the Steinbergpiste (92/93) and then start 'The Challenge. The Steinberg mountain lift then counts as an entry into The Challenge, then continue with the Asitzspitze mountain lift, Asitzmulden mountain lift and Sportbahn mountain lift Asitzkogel to the other side of the mountain to Saalbach. The exact course of the route can be found in specially printed folders, including more detailed information on a separate piste map. 

As mentioned above, extended breaks and sunbathing are not possible if you take up 'The Challenge'. There is just enough time to have a small snack at one of the alpine huts along the route. You will be in the area of Fieberbrunn or Hinterglemm at lunchtime. Here you will find, for example, the Hochhörndler hut or the Pulvermacherscherm hut or on the Hinterglemmer side the Roßwald hut or The Alm 1350 hut. All stops for refreshment are of course also listed on the piste map.  

By the way: The Challenge is of course measurable, everyone can record their time at the start and see their result on skiline.cc. And if you can show the deserved 'The Challenge' badge on skiline, you will receive a small reward at the main ticket counters of the mountain lift. For this you only need the print out of the altimeter diagram from one of the ski terminals. In addition, among all the registered 'challengers' three main prizes will be raffled off - if that is not an incentive...

Your personal challenge ends after a long unforgettable day at the foot of the Asitz. Now it's time for a well deserved break at the Riederalm bar. You really deserve it!
