Winter activities off the piste in Leogang

The small village of Leogang, nestled in the Salzburg Alps, is currently covered by a dress of sparkling powder snow. Snowy mountains, deep winter forests and fantastic pistes await you here. Located directly in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, you can enjoy 270 kilometres of ski fun, with around 70 lifts and some snow parks.

The Saalfelden Leogang region has much more to offer:
cross-country skiing, ice skating, snowshoe hikes and many other great winter sports activities.
Saalfelden Leogang offers a lot away from perfectly groomed pistes and dreamlike deep snow pistes.

Cross-country skiing is the perfect option for those who enjoy nature. This is a great equalizing motion for skiing, because you use the whole body, whether it's skating or classic. If you want to do something good for your endurance, you have plenty of opportunities to train on the 150 kilometre network of trails. Deep snow, untouched landscape, fresh air and pure nature. Sounds good, doesn't it? Whether you prefer the classic technique or skating, the right thing for everyone is available for a total of 150 kilometres of trails.

A small note: A ticket is required for the trails in Saalfelden. If you have the Saalfelden Leogang Card with you, the use is even free. (The Saalfelden Leogang Card is available at our reception.) 

More about cross-country skiing

Anyone who says you can only hike in summer is wrong! Because even in winter there are beautiful hikes through the picturesque landscape in Leogang. Good footwear and suitable clothing are the be-all and end-all in winter, because on the snow-covered paths, it can quickly become slippery and cold. As in summer, the yellow hiking signage leads safely to the respective destination even in winter. The winter hiking map (available at the reception desk) will give you more detailed information about the hikes and their nature. The silence of winter can also be discovered during a leisurely snowshoe hike. Together with a guide or companion, you can discover and enjoy untouched corners of nature.

Tobogganing is part of a perfect winter holiday, of course. Up the mountain in Leogang you can easily take the Asitzbahn mountain lift or walk up to the Holzhotel Forsthofalm and from there take the Almbahn mountain lift to the starting point at the Stöcklalm. Then its all downhill on the two skids. You will experience unforgettable moments while tobogganing, day and night - yes you read correctly: every Tuesday and Friday, the toboggan run even opens at night from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm!

The nature toboggan run at the Biberg offers another adventure: on the roughly six-kilometre long, winding route, the fun is certainly not short-lived. Up to the starting point of the toboggan run, the Biberg Mountain Inn, you can walk the first part of the route can also be shortened with the shuttle taxi. But: the path is worth it! On the Biberg, too, night-owls get their money's worth: six times a week (Monday is a day of rest) you can toboggan under the starry sky.

A romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride rounds off a successful winter holiday. A magical excursion through the snow-covered winter landscape makes dreams come true. Wrapped in a warm blanket, the horse-drawn sleigh ride offers you the perfect opportunity to completely switch off, spend time with your loved ones and enjoy the surrounding nature, glittering dreamlike of the snow - simply magical!
