Winter activities in Leogang

The Steinberg ski tour is considered a moderate beginner's tour and runs over about 1,000 metres of altitude 2.5 hours up the mountain, and with challenging sections along the Steinberg piste in Leogang. The tour starts at the Steinbergbahn lift valley station and ends at the Asitzbahn lift mountain station, with refreshment possibilities.
The descent then leads via prepared pistes 212 and 211 into the valley.
The tour is open every day within the operating hours and every Tuesday and Friday from 6:00 to 10:00 pm for ski tourers.

Ski touring is only possible in the area of the Steinbergpiste (along 211+212 outside the edge of the piste).
Please only cross the piste at designated places. Choose your route up away from the piste and always on the marked side.

The approximately 3 km long ski tour takes about 1 hour 40 min, covering around 650 metres of altitude It starts at the parking lot of the summer toboggan run Biberg (parking fee required for ski tourers). The route challenges both beginners and advanced tourers alike, featuring idyllic forest sections and brief open areas. Once at the top, all the effort is forgotten as you are rewarded with a stunning panorama of the Steinerne Meer mountain range and the Saalfelden basin.

If you want to experience the mountain in a special way without skis, take the Asitz or Steinbergbahn to the top station and join the winter hiking trail. Passing by the TONspur islands, the route leads you to the first summit experience and continues along the ridge to the Sonnkogel where the "Cinema of Nature" awaits with breathtaking views.

The Sinnlehenalm is the ideal hike for beginners and families. Not only are you rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Leogang Valley, the Leoganger Steinberge Mountain range, and the Birnhorn (2,634 m), but you can also enjoy a traditional alpine snack from the farm's own produce, featuring freshly baked bread, butter, bacon, and cheese.

The hiking tour „Weisser Weg“ takes you from the hotel (valley station Asitzbahn) via a winter hiking path to the centre of Leogang.
The “Weisser Weg” is a multifunctional path. This means that it is used by winter hikers as well as cross-country skiers. It also crosses the ski piste.
To return to the hotel you may either walk or take the bus.

A romantic hike through the mining village of Hütten leads into the snow-covered Schwarzleo Valley, all the way to the Unterberghaus. No hike into the Schwarzleo Valley is complete without a stop at the Knappenstube "Unterberghaus."
The return follows the same path.

From the hotel, a path leads along the Leoganger Arche to the Steinbergbahn (approx. 1.5 km), where you can join the Pirzbichlrunde. This longer circular hiking trail passes through the center of Leogang, offering stunning views of the Leoganger Steinberge and a moderate incline. It showcases breathtaking winter landscapes and an idyllic panorama.

The circular hike starts from the town center, passing through the district of Sinning and the Sonnberg, leading to the Badhaus before returning to Leogang in the valley. The Sonnberg loop is a moderate hike with some inclines and is perfect for enjoying a few rays of sunshine even in winter.

Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, making this tour a truly memorable experience.

This stunning circular hike takes endurance winter hikers from Saalfelden through Euring, Dorfheim, Bachwinkel, and Wiesing. Starting at the Euring Bridge in Saalfelden, the route follows the winter trail along the Saalach river, passing through picturesque villages and beautiful landscapes, before returning via Wiesing and the Schörhof to the starting point.

The hike to Biberg offers a snowy winter landscape, great views, and cozy places to stop for a bite. Hikers can enjoy a meal at Bockareit Stub'n, Berggasthof Huggenberg, or Berggasthof Biberg before experiencing the thrilling ride down the winter toboggan run. The hike starts at the valley station, passing Huggenberg before reaching Biberg.

This long, scenic winter hike starts at the NORDIC PARK Saalfelden and takes you through the areas of Breitenbergham, Haid and Pfaffenhofen. The route has gentle inclines and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The trail follows the Ritzensee, passes through Kollingwald, Breitenbergham, and Haid, and returns to the Ritzensee.
