Tobogganing fun & horse carriage romance

When tobogganing at Asitz, all ages alike have fun on the toboggan run - right next to our hotel! The romantic moonlight tobogganing takes place every Tuesday and Friday: whether by day or in the evening - from the middle station at Asitz we start. And during the day, the daytime toboggan run at Asitz promises fun and action (daily from 1 pm to 4 pm).

A very special experience is a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through the snow-covered Leogang. We would be happy to organise a carriage ride for you - just let us know.

Ice skating at Ritzensee

Ice skaters can also spin their pirouettes during their winter holiday at the Good Life Resort Riederalm. Because the natural skating rink on the frozen Ritzensee lake is perfect for all lovers of ice skating to just skate for fun or chase the little black puck. In the evening the rink is lighted, which creates an idyllic atmosphere.

The Steinberg ski touring route

The Steinberg ski tour is considered a moderate beginner's tour and runs over about 1,000 metres of altitude 2.5 hours up the mountain, and with challenging sections along the Steinberg piste in Leogang. The tour starts at the Steinbergbahn lift valley station and ends at the Asitzbahn lift mountain station. The descent then leads via prepared pistes 212 and 211 into the valley. The tour is open every day within the operating hours and every Tuesday and Friday from 6:00 to 10:00 pm for ski tourers.

Ski touring is only possible in the area of the Steinbergpiste (along 211+212 outside the edge of the piste).

The Biberg ski touring route

The approximately 3 km long ski tour lasts about 1 hour 40 min and leads over about 650 metres of altitude, starting at the parking lot of the summer toboggan run Biberg. The route ist demanding for both beginners and advanced tourers and delights with idyllic forest passages and short open spaces. Once at the top, all the efforts are forgotten because you are rewarded with the magnificent panorama of the Steinerne Meer mountain range and the Saalfelden basin.

Winter hiking & snowshoe hiking

Those who prefer to go their own way during winter holidays put on their snowshoes and enjoy the silence in the forests covered in deep snow. Almost silently, you can discover the snowy mountain world on snowshoes. Weekly guided snowshoe hikes are offered in Leogang and we are happy to organise a private guide for you. Directly from the Riederalm you will find countless opportunities for romantic winter walks and hikes.

The Sonnbergrunde circuit

The Sonnbergrunde circuit, as its name suggests, is a hike through the 'sunny side' of Leogang in winter. From the Hotel Riederalm you start to the village centre and continue through the districts Otting, Sinning and the Sonnberg to the Badhaus and back again. The hike is moderate and has some ascents which are quite demanding, but manageable. The advantage of this hike is that you can also get some sunshine in winter!

Hike to the Schwarzleotal valley

This romantic hike through the Schwarzleotal valley covered in deep snow to the Unterberghaus also starts directly at the Hotel Riederalm. The first section of the way leads west to the mining village of Hütten, past the hotels Forsthofgut and Rupertus as well as the bridge that leads to the chapel. 250 m after the bridge you turn onto the gravel path on the banks of the Leoganger Ache river. Cross the wooden bridge and get to the road to the Schwarzleotal valley. Follow the road for 2.5 km and always keep right until you reach the Knappenstube 'Unterberghaus'. Return on the same way.

Winter hiking trail Asitz mountain station

From the Hotel Riederalm, take the Asitzbahn mountain lift up to 1760 m to the mountain station. The winter hiking trail starts above the Alte Schmiede, which runs parallel to the piste and offers an endless view over the snow-covered peaks of the surrounding mountain world. Passing the Kleiner Asitz, you continue to the 'cinema of nature' on the Sonnkogel. From there you go back to the mountain station. Finally, you deserve a break in one of the beautiful huts on the Asitz.
