You can also enjoy and discover the popular Asitz in Leogang at any season. The Riederalm Hotel is located right next to the Asitz in Leogang. In the snow-free time, the Asitz is a true adventure mountain for mountain bikers and downhillers, hikers and families, while in winter it is part of a limitless piste fun in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. The massive and imposing mountain world in Leogang is known and fascinating. In the middle of it, the Asitz towers as the local mountain of Leogang and at its foot the Good Life Resort Riederalm - only 30 metres away from the entrance to the mountain lift.

Numerous artworks line the circular trail, designed by sculptors and painters, who took a critical look at topics such as home, nature and tradition. The artists designed their pieces of artwork, which are embedded in the natural surroundings, in such a way that they express their personal vision and point of view. Each sculpture has a story to tell, opens up new perspectives and tackles with current topics.
The starting point of this circular art trail is at the valley station of the Asitzbahn cable car. From here you walk along the river Leoganger Ache until you reach the Bio Hotel Rupertus. Then you walk in the direction of the Epic Bikepark Leogang and along the bottom of the Asitz mountain. Then back to the hotel Riederalm.

This hike takes you from the cable car valley station Asitzbahn on well-groomed paths up to the Senses Park at the middle station:
From the Asitzbahn valley station, head off in a westerly direction past the hotel Forsthofgut. After the hotel Biohotel Rupertus, continue approx. 300 m along the river Leoganger Arche, then turn left onto a narrow hiking path. Follow the yellow signs until you reach the hotel Forsthofalm. From there, take the gravel road, which will lead you directly to the middle station of the cable car Asitzbahn. There you find the Senses Park with over 30 stations. It's perfectly suited for young and elderly explorers.

Walk and play!
On this trail, which starts at the top station of the Asitz- or Steinberg lift, even younger ones are motivated and inspired to go hiking. Along the way, there are lot's of activity stations, where the kids are invited to climb, balance and play. Adults enjoy a wonderful circular trial leading younger and elderly hikers up to the top of the Großer Asitz (1914m) as well as to the natural cinema at Sonnkogel, where a stunning, panormaic view can be enjoyed. The Leos Game Trail is open from July to the beginning of October (depending on the weather).
Attention to all fans of quizzes and puzzles! The puzzle hunt along the Game Trail on the Asitz in Leogang is great for anyone who likes solving puzzles, playing, and winning prizes!

The Hiking Trail of Arts from the top station of the Asitz lift to the mid station of the Asitz lift is dedicated to a different theme each year.
The wonderful Hiking Trail of Arts starts below the top station of the Asitz lift and leads hikers all the way down to the mid station of the Asitz lift. On their way, they pass the "Stille Wasser” (Peaceful Waters) and the Senses Park. Every 30 to 40 m along the trail hikers find pictures of the current year's exhibitor, inviting you to take a closer look and make a litte pause.
(The trail can be hiked from the top station to the mid station, or the other way around.)

Take the Steinberg or Asitz lift, float up to a height of 1,762 m, and enjoy the amazing mountain views. 14 stations, which blend in with the forest, invite you to take a little time, meditate and relax on the 8.2 km long hiking trail. Viewpoints, resting areas, nature swings, a yoga space, a treetop bed, and even a waterfall will help you to recharge your batteries. After 1000 metres of descent and approx. 3.5 hours, you arrive in the valley physically and mentally strengthened for the next stage.

The Knappenstube 'Unterberghaus' snack bar is the starting point for the tours of the mine and after the visit you can enjoy the cosy ambience there and the wonderful local cuisine. Also some very interesting maps of the mining district Schwarzleo can be seen here! Of course, there are also souvenirs that will remind you of your visit to the mine.<br/> Since the 20th anniversary of the show mine in 2009, there has been a recreated stamp mill in the immediate vicinity of the Knappenstube, with which can be clearly demonstrated how difficult it was for the miners to extract the ore from the mined rock.<br/> In winter, a visit to the show mine is not possible, but it is worth a walk or a romantic sleigh ride to the Knappenstube!

The tour to the Sinnlehenalm (950m) is ideal for beginners and families. At the Sinnlehenalm hikers can enjoy a panoramic view of Leogang, the massif Leoganger Steinberge and the highest peak Birnhorn (2.634m). Besides, they are offered tasty snacks with homemade products.
The hike starts directly in the center of Leogang at the church. From here, hikers follow the marked trail through gently rising meadows and through forest paths to the hut (Alternatively, the ascent can start from the Leogang district Hirnreit. From there, it follows a wide, well-marked forest road directly to the Sinnlehenalm). Due to the shady path through the forest, the hike is perfectly suited for smaller ones or elderly hikers. At the Sinnlehenalm there is a playground for kids and they have the possibitly to get to know alpine animals.

The tour to the Lettlkaser guides hikers from the center of Leogang up into the impressive alpine world of the mountains of Leogang. During this exciting tour, hikers will see changing landscapes such as forests or green mountain pastures as well as wide hiking paths, enrooted forest tracks and narrow mountain trails. The Lettlkaser Hütte, a small mountain hut, awaits you with tasty snacks and a stunning view of the mountains of Leogang and the basin of Saalfelden. Experienced hikers can continue to the Plattenkopf, the Hainfeldscharte and the Passauer Hütte mountain hut.
This tour starts at the parking spaces located at the entrance to the fitness parcours in Leogang/Rosental. From here follow the yellow signs along the road towads Leogang/Sinning. Take a turn left and walk through a railway underpass, then take a turn right onto a forest trail. From here the path guides you through meadows and forests over Sinning Mountain up to the Lettlkaser mountain hut. To return to the starting point, from the Lettlkaser you can take the same way back to the valley.

This hiking tour begins at the Mining Museum Leogang in the Schwarzleotal valley and guides hikers past the Scheltaualm to the Spielbergalmen. The Lindlalm welcomes you with its famous meals and snacks such as bread, meat, dumplings and much more. From here you can hike up to the peak of the Spielberghorn mountain.
Anyone stopping by the Lindlalm should not miss out on the unique “Almwuzl” – a special type of Kaiserschmarrn created by the hut’s hostess. The homemade specialty is sure to delight every hiker’s heart!

The hiking tour to the Steinalm leads via forest trails and through mountain pastures to the mountain hut and offers easy hiking bliss accompanied by beautiful views of the valley and the surrounding mountain ranges. For most parts of the way you hike along a shady forest trail making this tour very suitable for hot summer days. Before reaching the hut you hike through mountain pastures. Cows, horses and colorful alpine herbs and plants give little hikers lots to see and explore. At the Steinalm hikers can not only enjoy tasty meals, but also observe animals that are typical for mountain huts, such as chicken, goats or bunnies.
This tour starts at the Bürgerau Saalfelden car park. At first the hiking path guides you uphill along a shady forest trail, then through mountain pastures to the Steinalm mountain hut. Along the hiking trail there is a lot to discover! Younger hikers can stop every few metres to explore a nature trail with several different signs, explaining flora and fauna and the habitats of various aninmals living in the forests, as well as mountain pastures and high alpine landscapes. Highlight: the hiking path leads you past a prehistoric cave, called Kuhloch.

The hike to the Peter Wiechenthaler Hut is popular with both locals and guests alike. Perched high above Saalfelden at the foot of the Persailhorn mountain, the hut not only offers a variety of routes that can be combined with other trails and huts depending on the desired level of difficulty, but also welcomes hikers with breathtaking panoramic views and hearty meals.
Since most of the hiking route options to and from the hut are exposed to the sun, chose your start time accordingly and beware of hiking in the midday heat. Make sure to take enough water for all hikers in your group. Use sunscreen and cover your head.

This hike starts in Harham, which is a part of Saalfelden. You walk along a gravel road through the romantic Haiderbergwald forest up to the Örgenbauernalm mountain hut. If you favour a more steep ascent, you may choose to leave the road after about half the tour and follow the signs onto a steeper forest trail to reach the hut. Due to the many trees along the way, most of this tour is rather shady making it a suitable hike for hot summer days. The Örgenbauernalm offers several tasty dishes, which are typical for the Pinzgau region. This rustic but beautiful hut awaits you with tasty, homemade meals and offers a stunning view of the valley and the surrounding mountains.
Note: If you want to extend your tour, you can hike up to the Berggasthof Biberg mountain restaurant.

The Biberg circular hike begins at the foot of the Biberg in the Kehlbach district of Saalfelden. From there, the trail leads first to the Berggasthof Biberg, before descending to the Berggasthof Huggenberg. Here, the summer toboggan run starts, offering an exhilarating ride down the mountain and a perfect finale for a family hiking day. The route primarily follows paved or gravel forestry roads, passing through shady forests and lush meadows. This hike is ideal for families with slightly older children.

This hike leads from the center of Leogang to a wooden fox's head built into the mountain, which derives from the legend "Der Müllerfuchs vom Gerstboden".
The fox head wattled from traditional Pinzgau "Giaschdn" fence was designed and built in 2009. In 2018 the complete restoration took place. Since then, the fox can be visited via a hiking trail.
The Müllerfuchs is not only a highlight during the day. It shines in the darkness and can be seen from the valley. So keep your eyes open!

The Pirzbichlweg hiking tour is the ideal tour for families and hikers, who seek an easy hike with stunning panorama. Due to the changing landscapes, this tour quickly turns into a family adventure. This tour takes you into the Stoissengraben, a wide river gorge (Buchweißbach river), which is located in the middle of lush green forests. The hiking tour to the hermitage in Saalfelden is especially suitable for families and those seeking an easy hike. When choosing this route, we recommend you to take a pause at the hermitage for a little while – you might even meet the hermit, who lives up here in the summer. The hermitage Saalfelden on 1.006 m was built in the 17th century above the Lichtenberg castle. It is Europes‘ last inhabited hermitage and there is also a small chapel up there. Residents and visitors of Saalfelden Leogang and the Pinzgau region value the hermitage as a place of peace and a resting place for one’s soul. From here you can enjoy the stunning view of Saalfelden Leogang and the surrounding mountains.

Hiking tour to the natural monument Birnbachloch and the Birnbachlochgletscher, one of the lowest glaciers in Central Europe. This tour is popular for its marvellous and nearly untouched nature at the bottom of the mountains Leoganger Steinberge.
The hiking tour starts in the Ullachtal valley in Leogang and guides you through a forest, then across green meadows and finally through a slightly more rocky terrain up to the Birnbachloch (1219 m). The Birnbachloch is a karst spring with a 20 m wide "entrance hall", where the Birnbach river has its spring. Close to the Birnbachloch, the Birnbachgletscher is located, one of the lowest glaciers in Central Europe. In the 19th century, the glacier was used to fill up the ice cellars of Munich beer breweries. The ice was transported to the valley via several hundred meter long wooden slides.

The starting point of this hike is the Tödlinggut in Leogang. From here, just cross the street and follow the marked path into the forest. Then the path leads you across pastures and through forests until you reach a higher altitude and can already see the peak. Follow the signs to Sonnkogel and Kuhfeldhörndl until you reach Spielberghorn. This hike requires a good hiking condition and a lot of elevation gain.

This trail takes the hiker on a tour through woodland and pastures, right up to the Tödlingalm. The Tödlingalm at 1.400 m is over 200 years old and part of the Griessner Almen. Hikers are welcomed by the many cows of the Tödlinggut farm spending their summer up here. Those who want even more can continue to the Seealm mountain hut, which offers homemade products and a view of the Grießner Hochmoor. From here you return to the starting point in Leogang/Grießen after 4:30 h walking time.

The eastern part of the Saalachtaler Höhenweg tour is a beautiful hiking tour from the Asitz- or Steinberg top station in Leogang across several easy peaks to the Biberg mountain in Saalfelden. Although this tour takes several hours, it is perfectly suitable for families, due to little differences in altitude.
To finish off this tour with a bang, you can take the summer tobboggan run down to the valley.

Challenging hike via the Haidensperre to the Steinalm. Due to exposed and steep passages ONLY experienced hikers, who do not suffer from vertigo and have good hiking skills, should choose this tour!
From the starting point at the Bürgerau car park you can reach the Steinalm via the Haidensperre, then back to the starting point at the Bürgerau.

The hike to Passauer Hütte starts with a shady forest path, then the tour continues on exposed terrain until finally the hut is reached via an exposed path in the middle of the rocks. The hikers are rewarded with stunning, panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Refreshment and overnight stays at the Passauer Hütte is possible. From here you can reach the surrounding peaks and via ferratas.

Via Lettlkaser to Hainfeldscharte
Starting from the parking lot above Mitterbrand, follow the marked trail towards the Lettlkaser hut. From the hut, the path leads south along a trail to the Plattenkopf. From there, continue north along the ridge, ascending to the Hainfeldscharte.
This is a solitary mountain tour amidst the impressive peaks of the Leoganger Steinberge, requiring a good level of endurance.

Challenging tour up to the Riemannhaus. The ascent and descent guide you through rocky, steep and exposed terrain. Hikers will be rewarded with stunning panorama of the surrounding valleys and mountains. The Riemannhaus is situated in the Steinernes Meer mountain range - a unique high plateau. From here you can climb several peaks such as Sommerstein, Breithorn, Mitterhorn etc.

This alpine circular route links the Peter Wiechenthaler Hut with Steinalm via a secured alpine trail, running along the flanks of the Steinernes Meer. It is not suitable for families with young children or inexperienced hikers. The route is recommended only for those who are sure-footed and experienced in mountain hiking. Hikers will encounter very challenging and dangerous sections along steep slopes, requiring caution and skill.
