Take the gondola initially up to the Asitz mountain station. After the first trail, which has a short section where you push the bike, there is the reward of a dreamy panorama, and the route alternates between uphill and downhill to the Thurneralm. From there continue on a superb forest and pasture trail to the Spielberg plateau. Pass the Spielberghaus and the Burgeralm, and the forest trail heads uphill to the ‘Eiserne Hand’ guesthouse in Fieberbrunn. A short climb takes you to Hochfilzen. Head back then at a leisurely pace on the cycle route, passing ‘Griessener Moor’ until you get to Leogang. TIP: Depending on your ability level, we recommend knee and elbow protectors.

From the Good Life Resort Riederalm it is initially mostly slightly uphill to Hochfilzen, where the actual circuit route of the Buchensteinwand starts. With its short ascents it is a really lovely, variant-packed route. The Wilder Kaiser, Loferer- and Leogang Mountains, the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Pinzgau Grass Mountains are part of the panorama of this perfect entry-level tour. Arriving in Hochfilzen again, head back to Leogang. Don’t forget to enjoy a refreshment stop in Griessener Seealm, where you get to indulge in regional, home-made specialities. Griessner Almen Tour
On the bike path, from our hotel, the route proceeds initially for the most part steadily uphill to Hochfilzen.
There is a short section on the main road to negotiate before heading into open terrain. The climb to the Griessner Almen is a very pleasant gradient, and you can ration your efforts.
After a brief downhill there is then a short uphill section, followed by a longer descent to Feistenau. The panoramic views in this tour reveal the many facets of the Alpine mountains.
- Wilder Kaiser
- Loferer- and Leoganger Mountains and
- the Kitzbühler Horn
A variety-packed landscape that gives you a thirst for more adventures in the mountains and out in nature. Once we get back to Hochfilzen, we head out on the return leg to Leogang.
